The situation
REGAIN is a sports rehabilitation and clinical practice being built from zero by an orthopaedic surgeon in Tripoli. There was no legacy system to migrate and no existing process to digitise — the clinic's way of working and the software that runs it were designed at the same time, in the same room. That made this a product engagement before it was ever a development one.
What we built
- An internal clinical management platform: patient records across multiple locations, structured physical examination by body region, prescriptions with clinician favourites, imaging and document management, payments, and a live view of patient flow through the clinic
- A complete appointment lifecycle: patient self-booking against live provider schedules, confirmation and reschedule windows, cancellations, automatic no-show handling, walk-ins, and an audited history of every status change
- A patient mobile app: booking, family profiles for dependants, document upload, in-app payment through local gateways, and education content
- The public website: positioning, service architecture, and the clinic's first digital presence
- Assessment reporting built on VALD force-plate data, presented in language patients understand rather than raw machine output
How we approached it
We designed the clinic's process, not just its software.
Five rounds of structured review with the surgeon turned clinical practice into system rules — who books, who confirms, what happens at T-48 hours, what a no-show releases. Most of the value was in settling those questions before writing the feature.
Patient confidentiality shaped the architecture from the first schema.
Access boundaries, record scoping and document handling were constraints on the design, not a review at the end.
